Working as a Lyno© Practitioner, I work with many athletes, everything between elite and weekend warriors, runners, cyclers, swimmers, tri-athletes and gym-bunnies.
I was excited to add Be Activated to my toolbox, especially for an elite tri-athlete that had been my client for a year. He originally came to see me with an ITB issue that had flared up and then continued to see me weekly just to keep his body in tune and prevent a return of the ITB problem.
The first appointment after I had done level 1 training, I assessed his pattern and did zone 1 activations as well as an ab activation just because it’s fun, especially when the athlete thinks he is so strong.
I got a text message the day after his appointment saying “I don’t know what you did to me but I ran three minutes faster at almost the same heart rate for an 8K run.”
We completed the activations in the following appointments and I showed him how to self-activate RPR style. While he wasn’t consistent with his full self-activations because I would do a full session with him once a month or as he felt he needed it, he did do zone 1 activations before a training session. At a recent 10K race that he intended as a training run, he activated zone 1 and 2 on the starting line and finished in the top 10 without really trying.
With results like this, he says that he doesn’t mind being seen rubbing behind his ears and the back of his butt on the start line of a race.
