My son was born with a genetic condition called ‘Kabuki syndrome’ which resulted in global developmental delay, feeding difficulties with reflux, many surgeries, medications and therapies. Every week I took him to be weighed by the health visitor and week after week he didn’t gain weight. I would look at babies half his age who were twice his size and full of energy. My son was lethargic and frequently ill. He dropped so far off the growth chart that he was labelled as ‘failure to thrive’. At the age of 2 during a hospital stay for an unknown illness, he refused to eat any more. We watched him waste away. After 2 weeks, I took home my emaciated boy with a feeding tube up his nose. A few weeks later he had surgery to insert a feeding PEG directly into his stomach.
He struggled with everything, including gross motor skills. He was 5 years old when I learnt about Beactivated. By this point he was trying to walk, but was so weak that he kept falling over – he literally fell over hundreds of times a month. He was low toned, hypermobile and was so stressed that he would grind his jaw at night. Beactivated changed his life! The first couple of treatments resulted in extreme tiredness, tears and headaches…I nearly gave up. By the third treatment he picked up and gradually got stronger. He stopped grinding his teeth at night, became more energetic and his concentration improved. Within a few weeks, he had stopped falling over. Forward a few years and more activation magic, he is now able to enjoy things that other kids do…football, horse riding, swimming, karate and tennis. He got a merit in his piano exam, played Tiny Tim in the theatre production ‘A Christmas Carol’ and is now one happy, healthy and resilient kid.
