I had a experience today that really touched me. Reminded me, why I love what I do. Sometimes small things we do can have a huge impact on others lives. Sometimes, even without us knowing it.
I treated a young boy of 13 today. He seemed like a lovely child from a good family.
His whole body was collapsed in a defensive posture. When he walked he kept looking down at the ground. He seemed to lack confidence more than anything.
I worked with him and saw a big shift on the table. There was good improvement in his posture, gait, strength and he seemed more confident after the session. I didn’t get to talk to him about his emotional wellbeing, although I sensed that I need to do that at some stage.
I was quite pleased with the good improvements I saw with him on physical level after the session. However the feedback I got from his mother, made me smile for the rest of the day.
She said, he told her something when he got in to the car after our session. She asked him how he felt and he said: ‘Mom,I feel proud’
This was incredible feedback for me. Reminded me of the substantial influence we can have in the lives of others.
A few simple techniques can have far reaching effects and influence a young life dramatically.
And along with my young friend…I felt proud today.
