In Spencer’s own words:
“Having recently turned 50 and suffering with long term knee and hip pain, I wanted to try and complete IRONMAN Lanzarote. Basic exercises weren’t possible and social running had to stop as my knees just couldn’t take it. From the very first session, I was able to finally engage my glutes, to squat, lunge with control and now I have improved flexibility in all areas.
A week before the event, I completed a 10 mile run with no knee or hip pain. I finished IRONMAN with no injuries. More amazingly, at 9am the following day I was back in the pool and went on to complete a week of swim and gym training at a camp in La Santa. Two weeks later I won the 100m Freestyle at the British Long Course Swimming Championships.
Completing an IRONMAN with very little training was down to Stephen. I cannot thank him enough.”
