My Experience of “ACTIVATION”
I’m a 64 year old woman. Pete has worked with me for five months. His approach blesses me: (1.) He is all about teamwork. We work together to get the body to release what it no longer needs to hold; (2.) He thinks holistically attuning all three aspects of me—body, mind and spirit. He also attunes to his own spirit and the leading of the Spirit within him.
CHRONIC PROBLEMS: (1.) I came to this treatment with an increasing concern that I would one day need a hip replacement because of the consistent and increasing pain in my left hip. I also came with discouragement. (2) For more than a dozen years, no matter how intentional I was, I could not maintain my desired pattern of regular exercise; some part of me invariably would become a problem. Pain would interrupt my rhythm. I would have to rest or go get some form of treatment to diminish the pain or increase range of motion again.
Pete explained how there are three zones in our bodies and when something is off in one zone that can create a “cheat”—a way the body will attempt to compensate—in another zone. These “cheats” are what had been creating the random aches and pains that undermined my progress.
HOPED FOR OUTCOMES: (1.) Activation treatments began to diminish the pain in my left hip within a few sessions. Within a couple of months I was able to run up my stairs pain free, instead of slowly pulling myself up using the hand rail. My sleep is improved due to diminished pain. (2.) I am significantly more able to maintain my desired rhythm of exercise.
For now, I continue with monthly treatments. The goal is to reduce my frequency to quarterly activation sessions. Working with one of Pete’s trainers, Chelsea, also helps to re-strengthen my muscles to support the re-set of the muscles from the activation work that Pete has done.
SURPRISING OUTCOMES: (1.) There has been an overarching sense of strength, integration and integrity in my body. I more often feel more confident in this body, as I stand on this earth as I continue to step into my sense of purpose. (2.) The pace and depth of change and relief has, in fact, been the best I’ve experienced to date—and I have tried many modalities. (3.) I am changing my thinking around what I can expect of myself when it comes to strength in this decade of my life.
